Pandora Announces New AMPcast Feature For Musicians
what is ampcast is an artist-to-fan communication tool that allows musicians to record spontaneous, personal messages to be played to listeners of their music. Artists can geotarget their messages, and the results are shown to them in a dashboard in AMP, including performance metrics such as click-throughs.
Previously only available for Featured Tracks, Pandora is now rolling out the tool to all artists using its platform. Messages can be used to share tour dates and ticketing links, promote new singles, announce special events, and more. The company says it’s a powerful way to engage fans during the moments they are most interested in an artist and that its impact is orders of magnitude more effective than a typical advertisement. Examples of proven business results from AMPcast campaigns include a medical device brand seeing a 300% increase in e-commerce traffic and a furniture store with 31% growth in organic web traffic.
How does ampcast work
Pandora’s newest feature is an evolution of its existing tools that help musicians grow their audience and connect with their fanbase. The new version of the Artist Marketing Platform (AMP) adds a host of features, including improved tracking and analytics, to help artists large and small grow their audience and drive engagement.
The platform’s next generation Artist Audio Messages let artists record short audio messages that play before or after their tracks in Pandora. These messages can be targeted to specific listeners, based on preferences like thumbs up or down and station creations, and the company says it has been used to connect with fans nearly half a billion times. It’s also integrated with Ticketfly, giving artists the ability to promote concerts at Ticketfly venues.
